Timms Orchard

In the early hours of D-day Lt Col Charles Timmes arrived in Normandy. He like most had a difficult landing. He fell in to the flooded area to the north west of La Fiere Bridge. His parachute did not deflate and he was dragged across the marsh for around twenty minutes. It was only after several days of heavy fighting that he linked up with the 325th Glider regiment and other members of the 82nd.
